Unsung heroes!!
We had an awesome evening tonight upskilling as a sound crew for worship at St Luke’s. These guys do an amazing job week in and week out and as one said tonight “we know we’ve done our job well if no one notices us”. It’s such a key ministry though for helping us enter into an awareness of God’s presence each Sunday and drawing out of us a wholehearted response in worship as God’s people in this place.
There was some really inspiring skill and passion on display tonight and if anyone would like to get involved in sound or visual ministry too for that matter then rock up and have a chat to any of the guys in this photo on Sunday or message us here at Waikanae Anglicans 🌿

Want to hear a lovely story of God at work?
This morning we sent out two of our youth heading to Wellington to take up ministry and study opportunities. Kendall and Joseph have grown up in our midst and ministered as leaders in our youth and worship ministries for several years. While down in Wellington they will join up with All Saints church in Hataitai with our good friends Revs Summer and Guy Benton
Also, Jakob Johnson-Frow was commissioned today for service in youth and worship ministry and prayed for as he begins his Christian Ministry Diploma through Bishopdale. Praying for him in this photo is Pene Burton-Bell. She was a lay leader at All Saints in Hataitai with Jakob’s parents at the time when Jakob was born not breathing and was part of the prayer team praying for him in his first week of life in the neo-natal unit. She was praying for him to live 19 years ago…..and today she was praying for him to flourish in God’s ministry call upon his life.
From All Saints in Hataitai to the Parish of Waikanae……from the Parish of Waikanae to All Saints in Hataitai - God has a wonderful way of working all things together for good ❤️

This provides a bit more context to this part of today's service for me. May be we could get a bit of a all ages Student group going as there are One or two others of us that are doing distance studies via various institutions.
We watched St Luke’s online this morning as some of us were unwell. These are both churches that support us so we thought that was cool too!
Great to see and hear about! Thank you for sharing. I do not know Kindle but all blessings – but Jakob, it is so exciting to see you stepping into who God is created you to be and standing on the investment of your wonderful family and church, as well as the church you grew up in! Jay will be very excited to see this.
